Calendar of events for Foxfire Farm


Below you will find the currently scheduled events, classes, and seminars that will be taking place at Foxfire Farm.  Please mark your calendars now for any events for which you are interested in attending!  As each event nears, there will be further information available in the store, in local newspapers and by email.  If you are not currently receiving Foxfire Farm’s regular emails and would like to, please send a message to that effect to:  dianekodet@hotmail.com.  This is the best way to receive all information about the events, including any last minute date changes or cancellations.
Foxfire Farm reserves the right to adjust the dates for these events at any time, to add new events, or to cancel any event if necessary. 



APRIL 26 – FREE INFORMATIONAL SEMINAR ON LANDSCAPING WITH PERENNIALS – from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Foxfire Farm’s Country Store.  Topics included will be how to begin gardening with perennials, varieties that are ideal for our Michigan weather, how to incorporate themes into your landscaping and  what chores need to be taken care of  each season with perennials.  Participants in this workshop will be given a special 25% off certificate to use within one month of the workshop during one visit to Foxfire Farm on ALL of the perennials that are purchased!

MAY 3 – MOTHER’S DAY GIFT MAKING WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN – from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Foxfire Farm’s Country Store for children ages 4-12.  A small fee of $6.00 will be charged to cover the cost of the project and pre-registration and payment will be required.  Those interested in attending should register and pre-pay no later than Thursday, May 1. 

MAY 11 – MOTHER’S DAY!  Bring in Mom to shop in the store on Mother’s Day and she will receive a FREE rose!  Also, don’t forget that Foxfire Farm can deliver to Mom’s anywhere NATIONWIDE the perfect floral arrangement that shows how much she is loved!

MAY 16, 17 AND 18 - POOL AND SPA EXTRAVAGANZA!  Free pool and spa water testing!  Huge pool and spa chemical sale!  Get ready to open your pool and/or spa for the season - know what chemicals you'll need for problem free maintenance all summer long - and SAVE BIG!

JUNE 14 – FATHER’S DAY GIFT MAKING WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN – from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Foxfire Farm’s Country Store for children ages 4- 12.  A small fee of $6.00 will be charged to cover the cost of the project and pre-registration and payment will be required.  Those interested in attending should register and pre-pay no later than Thursday, June 12.

JULY 19 – GARDEN PARTY AT FOXFIRE FARM’S BOTANICAL GARDENS  – from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Our gardens are located
2 miles south of our country store and contain 17 different theme gardens and over 3,500 labeled varieties of herbs, perennials, trees, shrubs and more.  This will be a special evening with refreshments and a private tour of the gardens and magnificent 9,500 square foot log home on the property.  Gardens and home will be open BY RESERVATION ONLY.  Foxfire Farm will begin taking reservations for this event on June 1.  The charge for the two tours and refreshments will be $20.00 and must be pre-paid by July 12.  No late reservations will be taken. 

AUGUST 16  – DOG DAYS OF SUMMER FAMILY FUN FEST!  From 10:00 a.m.  – 5:00 p.m. at Foxfire Farm’s Country Store.  A great day of Family Fun and Activities for everyone in the family – including the family pet!  Food, fun, games and prizes! 

SEPTEMBER 27 –  OLD-FASHIONED CIDER MAKING DEMONSTRATION From 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Come and see cider being made on a 100-year old apple press!  You might even get a chance to help make it!  Taste the real stuff – right off the press!  Cider and doughnuts available for sale on this day!  Lots of fun for the whole family! Event takes place at Foxfire Farm’s Country Store.

OCTOBER 4 & 5 – FALL FESTIVAL!  From 10:00 a.m.  – 5:00 p.m. on both days, at Foxfire Farm’s Country Store.  Games, prizes, crafts, rides, pumpkin painting, food, straw maze, pony rides and a petting zoo - and the biggest selection of pumpkins to choose from in the area!  Something for everyone in the family to enjoy!

NOVEMBER 8 & 9 – HOLIDAY OPENHOUSE!  From 10:00 – 5:00 p.m. on both days at Foxfire Farm’s Country Store and Floral Shop.  Come and get your Christmas shopping off to a great start with the best selection of Christmas gifts, ornaments and decorations in the area!  Food, fun, and great pre-Christmas sales. Preview our holiday floral arrangements and pre-order for great savings!  Children come in and decorate a Christmas ornament for FREE while parents shop!

DECEMBER  2008:   BRING IN YOUR PET AND HAVE ITS PICTURE TAKEN WITH SANTA!  (Exact date to be announced) All proceeds from picture sales at this event will benefit the Saint Clair County Spay and Neuter Program.  Cost for the pictures will be by donation.

DECEMBER 13 THRU 23, every night from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. FIFTH ANNUAL HISTORY OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE WALK!  Over 50 Christmas trees decorated with ornaments from the 1850’s until present, all displayed inside a 9,500 sq. foot log home!  Discounts given for advance ticket purchase!  Discount tickets go on sale July 1, 2008 at Foxfire FarmCountry Store and Floral Shop.  Tickets purchased in advance are $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child and are good for any night the WALK is open.  Tickets are non-refundable.  Tickets can also be purchased by calling 810 794-5108.  After Nov. 1 the price of tickets increases to $12.00 per adult and $6.00 per child. 

DECEMBER 13 THRU 23 2ND DOWNRIVER CHARITABLE FESTIVAL OF REAL CHRISTMAS TREES – Foxfire Farm will be re-creating the classic memories of Christmas for the children of our community with the help of our local businesses and non-profit charitable organizations.  Come and join us in the greenhouse at  Foxfire Farm Country Store and Floral Shop.  The trees will be on display each evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tickets for the event will be an affordable donation of $2 for adults and $1 for children.  All proceeds from tickets pre-sold by charitable organizations will be kept by that organization.  Proceeds from ticket sales at the door, picture sales, refreshments and business sponsorships will be divided between the participating non-profit organizations.  Santa has sent confirmation that he will be arriving Dec. 13 and will be visiting each weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday.)  Santa’s helpers will be on hand and photographs will also be available.  NOTE:  THIS EVENT IS NOT THE SAME AS “THE HISTORY OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE WALK” ABOVE  BUT WILL RUN AT THE SAME TIME AS THAT EVENT! THE CHARITABLE EVENT IS ON THE GROUNDS OF FOXFIRE FARM COUNTRY STORE, WHICH IS WHERE THE SHUTTLE WILL LEAVE FROM FOR “THE HISTORY OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE WALK”, SO PERSONS VISITING ON DEC. 13-23, WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BOTH EVENTS, IF DESIRED!
