Foxfire Farm is adding an exciting new community event to its summer and fall calendar.  Beginning June 6, on the grounds of Foxfire Farm's Country Store and Greenhouses at 8061 Marsh Rd. in Algonac, Michigan, there will be a great old-fashioned Farmer's Market and Crafter's Market every Saturday and Sunday.

We are inviting persons from the surrounding communities to rent a 6-8 foot table space for $5.00 per day to sell home-grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, jams and jellies, hand crafted items, cut flowers, fresh and dried herbs, hand made soaps, candles and body care items, and similiar products.  Sellers may rent a space for one day at a time, though we will be offering discounts to persons who pre-pay for 4 or more weekends.  There will be limited space provided under cover on a first-come first served basis.  Tables and chairs are not included, but can be rented out for an additional $5.00 fee.  Persons wishing to sell produce or crafts from the back of the truck bed will be charged the same $5.00 fee for each day that they set up. The Market will continue every Saturday and Sunday through the end of October.  Sellers may set up at 9:00 each day and may remain as long into the day as desired, providing all products and set up is removed before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and before 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Sellers are responsible for their own trash removal.

We are advertising early through our email base of almost 10,000 customers and will also be advertising in local flyers and newspapers.  Persons who pay by Wednesday of the weekend before they wish to set up will have their names and products advertised FREE OF CHARGE in our weekly newsletter to our customers.  There will be no refunds due to cancellations or inclement weather.

There are a few items that we will not allow during the Market.  No potted plants of any kind, including flats of flowers, pots of flowers, vegetable plants, or hanging baskets, as this would be in direct competition to Foxfire Farm's greenhouses.  Cut flowers, dried flowers, cut and dried herbs and home grown produce are allowed.

No commercially produced foods or items of any kind will be allowed.

No flea-market and garage sale type items will be allowed.

Foxfire Farm reserves the right to refuse to let any seller sell any type of product that may be questioned by Foxfire Farm as to fit within the guidelines of the Market.

Foxfire Farm hopes you will spread the word out there to gardeners and crafters to start planting extra veggies and to start crafting more projects in anticipation to the opening of the first Farmers Market and Crafters Market on June 6, 2009!  Let's work to make our community a great place to live and work and play!
